MAD SCIENTIST CAMP Level 1 $150 members $175 non-members

June 14-16

 

 

Let your child in on the secrets of how the world functions and the forces at work within it through hands-on experiments and projects centered on the most exciting facets of Engineering, Science, Technology, Math, Aviation and Space!  For three days, Level 1 Scientists will get a good taste of the basic concepts and ideas surrounding what we know about our world today.  They’ll explore what all curious minds want to know when looking at the world around them.  They’ll discover how to ask questions and how to go about finding those answers in an engaging way.  Level 1 Scientists will see their curious minds blossom through fun-filled experiments and hands-on activities designed to make science come alive!  Transportation is provided daily from Omaha & Lincoln

MAD SCIENTIST CAMP Level 2 $225 members $250 non-members

July 5-9

Give your child the opportunity to explore the forces and components that make up our world through hands-on experiments and projects centered on the most exciting facets of Engineering, Science, Technology, Math, Aviation and Space!  In this more in-depth look at the world, Level 2 Scientists will feed their curiosity for five days and will stretch their minds and hands to create, design, and test out ideas through our engineering challenges and will come home raving about mind-blowing scientific experiments!  They will be able to let their imaginations take shape as they discover, alongside their friends, some of the most fascinating and powerful pillars of modern knowledge.  They’ll be amazed at what they find!  Transportation is provided daily from Omaha & Lincoln.

WEEKEND FLIGHT CAMP $225 members $250 non-members

June 11-13, July 9-11, August 6-8

Clear the runway for take-off as your camper jets into the greatest camp experience available for the aspiring aviator! Your campers will experience two nights “checking for light leaks” (sleeping) underneath the SR-71 Blackbird, and three action-packed days having a blast and flying side-by-side with their friends here at the Museum. Campers will not only soar in our computer simulated Flight School, but will also climb to amazing levels as they “practice” the skills they have acquired in a real flight in a single-engine aircraft!

RESIDENT FLIGHT CAMP $350 members $375 non-members

June 21-24, July 12-15

Experience a breathtaking adventure in a high-flying private jet, receive top-notch instruction from an experienced pilot, sleep in a cabin, and go on star-gazing night hikes! This is not your ordinary week at summer camp! Spend three nights and four days at Platte River State Park and the Strategic Air and Space Museum. This exhilarating camp combines high-flying, exciting, hands-on activities with knowledge and understanding of the world of aviation! Catered meals provided.

ASTRONAUT ACADEMY $500 members $525 non-members

June 27-July 1, July 25-29

Future ASTRONAUTS! Get ready to train like the best of them just like they do at NASA! This camp gives participants the unique chance to fulfill their dreams of space exploration, aviation, and engineering, all right here in Nebraska! Between living at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s dorms and here at the Museum campers will be challenged to sharpen their analytical skills, problem-solving techniques, teamwork, and knowledge of space and aeronautics through hands-on activities in an inspiring atmosphere! SCUBA diving and underwater missions, survival training on a ropes course, and tours of Nebraska’s largest observatory and the University of Nebraska’s robotics lab are just a few of the exciting events that make up this thrilling week of space exploration!

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER $1250 members - $1300 non-members

July 18-23

Travel with us on an adventure to Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Cape Canaveral, Florida!

The excitement begins with a behind-the-scenes tour of the Museum and a day of SCUBA diving and performing underwater missions as the astronauts do. Then, we’ll fly to Cape Canaveral and visit Kennedy Space Center for a behind-the-scenes tour of NASA’s KSC! This will include a visit to the Neutral Buoyancy Lab, Space Environment Simulation Lab, Robotics Lab, Historic Mission Control and New Mission Control.

Have lunch with the astronauts in their lunchroom! Airline flight, meals and all activities included.
