Chili Bomb
When it’s cold outside, it’s chili at SASM. Join us on Saturday, January 28 between 11:am and 3:00pm for our annual Chili Bomb. Enjoy a day of chili sampling, vote for your favorate, and get a close-up look at our bomber collection.
There will be a special presentation by Jim Partington USN/RADM, Retired who is the Executive Director of the Nebraska Restaurant Association. The Peoples Choice Award will be presented in the Con Agra Theater at 3:00pm. See if your favorite reigns supreme.

Great Balls of Fire
No, it’s not an exhibit about Jerry Lee Lewis. Instead, explore comets, asteroids and meteors as you never have before in the of Space Science Institute’s Great Balls of Fire. This exhibition lets you attempt to save Earth from an asteroid, or (even more fun) send an asteroid to your zip code and see what would happen! Watch some of your favorite movie and TV clips to determine if they represent science fact or science fiction.

2012 Nebraska Robotics Expo

Suited for Space
Perilous voyages to the unknown mark many chapters in this country’s history, but few have captured the imagination like the journey into space. Through American ingenuity, innovation, and determination, our dreams of space travel were realized, but a successful launch was only half the battle. Spacesuits were the survival gear that made it possible for humans to take flight. Suited for Space allows you to explore the extreme mechanics of the ultimate life-support system. This exhibit was developed by the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.
